Michael Camacho-Craft - Health Care Administrator
A graduate of UCLA, Michael oversees all aspects of the Santa Maria Health Care Center, including Women's Health and the clinic located at the Good Samaritan Homeless Shelter. Having worked for Santa Barbara County for approximately 20 years, Michael is committed to sustaining a center where staff flourish and patients thrive. He believes strongly in partnering with patients to identify and meet their health care goals. Michael promotes personal empowerment of staff and patients alike, with a deep, consistent focus on customer service. When not at the center, Michael enjoys travel, family time, and lifelong learning.

Henning Ansorg, MD, FACP
Dr. Ansorg is a graduate of Justus-Liebig-University Medical School Giessen, Germany. He completed Residency training in Munich, Germany and Tucson, AZ and is board certified in Family Practice (Germany) and Internal Medicine (USA). Dr. Ansorg is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is on the Medical Staff at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. He has many years of experience in different settings including 10 years of Private Practice and Urgent Care in Munich, Germany as well as 11 years of Internal Medicine/Geriatrics and Integrative Medicine in Sedona, AZ.
He has served as fulltime Internist at Santa Barbara County Health Care Center and Attending Physician for the Internal Medicine Residents since 7/2016
Chelsea Dean, MD
A California native, Dr. Chelsea Dean is originally from Simi Valley, CA. Her education took her to University of California, Berkeley where she completed her B.A. in Molecular Cell Biology with a minor in Dance and Performance Studies. She received her M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with high honors. Dr. Dean returned to California to complete her Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She is ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Passionate about holistic care, Dr. Dean approaches medical problems with an open perspective and whole person mindset.
In addition to practicing primary care, Dr. Dean is an accredited HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She currently sees patients with HIV at both Santa Barbara and Santa Maria Healthcare Center HIV/ID clinics.
Outside of the healthcare centers, Dr. Dean is the co-Medical Director of Doctors Without Walls, a non-profit that provides medical care for those experiencing homeless in the Santa Barbara area. She volunteers regularly in DWW clinic outreaches in the parks and streets of Santa Barbara.
Dr. Dean currently lives in Goleta with her husband and their pitbull rescue, Reina. When not at clinic, she is usually running along the beach, biking the hills or surfing.
Dr. Dean is fluent in conversational Spanish.
Dr. Gabriela Diaz
Dr. Gabriela Diaz joined Santa Maria Health Care Center in January 2015. Dr. Diaz grew up in our community and, after completing her medical training, could have set up practice any place but returned to Santa Maria to serve locally. Trained in Family Medicine, she has additional interest in pediatrics, women's health, and care for farm workers. She exhibits an abiding commitment to reaching those who most need care but face the greatest barriers in finding it.
La Dra. Gabriela Díaz se unió al Centro de Salud de Santa Maria en Enero del 2015. La Dra. Lisa DiModica, PA
Lisa DiModica joined Santa Maria Health Care Centers in March 2011. She currently provides part time Urgent Care at Santa Maria Health Care Center. Lisa loves to travel with her family and appreciates the opportunity to serve at the center.
Robert Guerra, M.D. - Internal Medicine
Dr. Robert Guerra was born and raised in California. He was educated in the California public school system. Dr. Guerra graduated from Cal State University Long Beach and UCLA School of Medicine. He completed his residency training through UC San Francisco Internal Medicine Program. He also completed additional training in Geriatric Medicine through UCSF at the Veteran's system in Fresno. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Guerra spent twelve years in private practice in Fresno and then in Lompoc before transitioning to the Public Health Department Lompoc Health Care Center. He has been a staff physician at the LHCC for the past 10 years. Dr. Guerra has been married to his wife for 28 years. They have two boys – one serving in the United States Air Force and one finishing college.
Dr. Rachel Hawkins
Psychologist Dr. Rachel Hawkins joined the Santa Maria Health Care Center in November 2016. Dr. Hawkins completed doctoral training at the Family Service Agency of San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital. Prior to joining the team at the Santa Maria Health Care Center, she was a behavioral medicine supervisor at the San Mateo Medical Center. Dr. Hawkins uses evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing tailored to primary care settings. She believes in partnering with patients to support their healing and growth.

Dr. Karen Hougo
Dr. Karen Hougo is a recent addition to the Santa Maria Health Care Center team. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr. Hougo is a loyal UCLA alumna, even during this woeful football season; however, she did her residency and endocrine fellowship at USC-affiliated programs. She enjoys every inch of Santa Barbara County and its residents. One of her greatest joys is watching people regain control over their diabetes and health. Dr. Hougo is honored to play a small part in your journey towards health.
Robert Martin, PA
Robert Martin graduated from Charles Drew University magna cum laude in 1996 as a Physician Assistant. He joined the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department in that same year and has served in multiple Health Care Center locations, including Santa Maria, Lompoc and New Cuyama. Dr. Josephine (Phyllis) Preciado
Dr. Phyllis Preciado began her health care career serving as a Registered Nurse in Northern California for over 15 years. She made the decision to pursue medical school and graduated from the University of California Irvine School of Medicine in 1999. She is proud to have been actively involved in community health education for over 35 years. Dr. Preciado joined the Public Health Department at the Lompoc Health Care Center as an Adult Primary Care Staff Physician in March of 2011 and moved to the Santa Maria Health Care Center in September 2015. She has a three-fold focus in health care: providing evidence-based medical care for underserved and uninsured communities, addressing health literacy utilizing a team-based model, and mentoring pre-health students to pursue health related careers. Dr. Preciado also serves as the supervising physician for the SMHCC.
Dr. Tushar Yadav
Dr. Yadav graduated from Seth G.S. Medical College in India and completed his residency at Jackson Park Hospital, Chicago, in 1998. He joined the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department in 1999 and has been practicing Family Medicine at the Santa Maria Health Care Center since then. In addition to seeing patients in clinic, Dr. Yadav provides care to patients in local skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. He loves his work, and his clinical endeavors show his passion for serving patients.

Dr. Carolyn Griffith
Dr. Carolyn Griffith is a specialist in Women's Health. She cares for women throughout life, with a focus on the reproductive system and health during pregnancy. She received her degree in biochemistry from the University of California at San Diego and attended Medical school at the University of Southern California, where she graduated on the Dean's Honor list. Dr. Griffith worked in private practice in Santa Barbara for nine years, practicing out of both Goleta Valley and Cottage Hospitals. In 1998 she was selected as Physician of the Year for the Cottage Health System.Board certified as a specialist in women's health by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Griffith has worked for the Public Health Department since 2003. She is married and has three sons.
